Established in 1974, CoAction West Cork is a community-based organisation and a designated HSE service provider for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Operating across five locations in West Cork—Bantry, Castletownbere, Dunmanway, Clonakilty, and Skibbereen—they offer critical services to approximately 700 children and 160 adults. CoAction is committed to promoting diversity and empowerment within the community, ensuring that each person receives appropriate support tailored to their individual needs, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute to society.

 

About the Role

CoAction is seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer, who will ensure the effective operation and growth of the organisation while navigating the challenges within the Irish social care sector and the organisation. The selected candidate will also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and beneficiaries.

 

This role presents a great opportunity for a strong leader to manage change, build a high-performing team, and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.  The successful candidate will ensure a strong focus on staff development and service delivery to meet the needs of its service users and their families. Additionally, the CEO will lead the development and execution of CoAction’s long-term strategy, overseeing service restoration, best practices in service provision, quality systems, staff performance, financial management, and stakeholder engagement in collaboration with the Board.

 

The ideal CEO candidate should have extensive senior management experience, especially in people leadership, financial, and human resource management. They must have a proven track record of driving significant change in complex multi-stakeholder environments, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality services through cross-disciplinary collaboration. Exceptional communication skills and personal dedication to the mission, vision, and ethos of CoAction West Cork are essential.
