YMCA Dublin has been working with young people in Dublin City for over 170 years.  The organisation runs programmes in youth work, education, family support, community childcare and community employment. To support their services, they run two social enterprises – YMCA Gyms and YMCA Childcare. Their strategic plan (2019-2026) states the goal of establishing 3 new community hubs during that period. These will be purpose-built facilities offering a wide range of community activities and facilities, including high quality childcare. Delivery of these strategic objectives will require collaborative working as part of a small but growing senior management team

About the Role

The Head of Communities & Youth Services will oversee all Community & Youth Services at YMCA Dublin, reporting directly to the CEO. HOCYS will ensure that all operational work supports local communities, has proven outcomes, and allows young people and their families to belong, contribute and thrive. This role will be a key part of the YMCA senior leadership team and responsible for the vision, leadership and delivery of all YMCA’s Community & Youth services.

The HOYCS will initially cover maternity leave for the youth services manager and will thereafter be responsible for sourcing and securing statutory funding to develop new and to ensure sustainability of existing services. The role will also be responsible for developing new income generation streams as part of our work in new communities. This role is being created at an exciting time for YMCA Dublin as they aim to expand their community and youth services, with this role being crucial to that change. The appointable candidate will be strong at building & maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including those within the community, government bodies and funders. They will be a solution-focused individual, with strong communication and project management skills, and also a proactive leader.
