Concern Worldwide generates its income from a complex mixture of grants, contracts and donations and utilizes those funds in some of the most difficult environments in the world.

 

About the Role

An opportunity has arisen within Concern Worldwide for an experienced Finance Director with a strong understanding of the international development sector.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, the Finance Director will be responsible for the financial health of the organisation. The post-holder will drive the organisation’s financial strategy and oversee all financial aspects of Concern Worldwide’s work, ensuring the finance function is managed in line with best practice and relevant legislation.

They will also be responsible for assessing the financial performance of the organisation – developing financial systems and controls to effectively manage an income of over €220m per annum as well as a complex operational environment.

To be successful in this role, the post holder must be a strategic thinker, possess exceptional communication skills, and will have a clear understanding and passion for Concern Worldwide’s purpose.

The post-holder will be a proven leader, with a track record of effectively managing a finance team. They will be flexible and will continually act in the best interests of the organisation to ensure that Concern Worldwide can continue to succeed in the work it does.

The salary scale for this role is €95,801-103,489, commensurate with experience.
