About Irish Girl Guides

The Irish Girl Guides (IGG) has approximately 8,000 youth and adult members in Ireland, with a paid staff supporting the work of volunteers in the organisation. We are a youth-driven, dynamic organisation offering a varied and exciting programme for girls and young women aged 5-30, and opportunities for women of all ages.

 

As a girl-only movement, girls and women are free to develop and express themselves in a safe, comfortable, supported setting. The organisation has a long-standing impactful history of 112 years in Ireland during which the movement has inspired thousands of females. As part of a global organisation of 10 million girls in 150 countries, the sense of belonging is an important aspect of our work.

 

About the Role

Irish Girl Guides (IGG) is recruiting a Chief Executive Officer who will ensure the effective operations of a dynamic nationwide youth organisation through the management of the National Office and the staff in their roles to support its members and fulfil its mission and strategic plan.

 

The CEO will be responsible for the successful management of the organisation, in accordance with the strategic direction set by the Board. The job will include overall responsibility for implementing the strategic plan and activities of the organisation and will involve representing the Irish Girl Guides to potential funders, partners, stakeholders and regulatory.

 

Furthermore, the new CEO will be at the forefront of the transition from the National Office from Pembroke Park to the new National Training Centre in Tallaght.

 

The successful candidate will be a values-driven individual, who thinks strategically, with a clear understanding of what it takes to run a volunteer lead organisation. They will be friendly, organised and approachable, with an openness to learn and create strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
